What should I do if I feel like I have no energy? Zhang Chaoyang talks about brain plasticity: what you focus on will be amplified. To achieve a new mental state, you first need new behaviors. Gradually, the brain will get used to these new behaviors and develop corresponding neural connections.

If you immerse yourself in past sadness every day, you will endlessly amplify that sadness and then sink into depression. If you feel like you have no energy, start with your actions—do things that seem energetic. How to do that when you have no energy? Start simple.
People don't first have a good mood to have good behavior; it's the other way around. First, train yourself to do good behaviors, and over time, your mood will match these behaviors, leading to change. Don't look for methods at the thinking level; it's useless. You need to find breakthroughs at the behavioral level.
Understand the principle but can't take action? If the opportunity isn't right, continue to feel down for a while and then move on. Buddha only guides those with affinity; moreover, many times we don't even understand what stage we're at.
Start with behavioral change, and don't focus on so-called big things. In life, there are no big things—it's just a bunch of insignificant small matters. A small beneficial act can make a world of difference whether you do it or not.
Feeling that your ability is low makes you less suitable for big things. Pushing hard and then declining, then failing again—surely you've had such experiences before. Don't compare yourself to others' achievements; they also accumulated their momentum years ago. Everyone has their own pace.
No matter how small the task, take the first step. If you start taking even a little action on things you never did before, it's like going from stillness to slow movement, gaining a bit of acceleration. It's okay to start slow; as long as you keep adding a little acceleration, time will give you good feedback on your progress. You will feel your own strength, do more and more, and your sense of power will gradually return.
Complaining is not a good habit. Whatever you complain about will be amplified. Repeated complaints will bind the amplified things in your brain, causing endless internal friction. The more internal friction you have, the less energy you will naturally have.
"The Conversation with God" states that the human creative process occurs on three levels: first, thoughts; second, words; third, actions. Each level influences the next more significantly. To avoid causing negative effects, work backwards: don't act based on negative thoughts, don't speak based on negative thoughts, and ideally, don't have negative thoughts at all.
When you can't help but start to have complaining thoughts, just notice these thoughts rising and shift your attention to something else. The power to shift attention is essentially the same as lifting a bucket of water—just one in the brain, the other in the arm.
Training the brain's strength is simple: meditation. Practicing for 5-10 minutes daily for half a year will give you stronger attention control. When negative thoughts arise, immediately notice and shift your attention; these negative thoughts will be replaced by other thoughts, which is mindfulness.
It's not about forbidding certain thoughts but about using attention to think about something else. Eliminating the source of negative creation depends on controlling attention, a skill that can be strengthened through daily meditation. Meditation changes lives.
