Do your best, leave the rest to fate

If you plant this tree,

Will it definitely grow into the shape I desire?

The answer is not necessarily,

But what can be certain is,

If you don’t plant this tree,

And just sit at home fantasizing,

You will definitely not get the tree that shields you from wind and rain in your ideal vision.

So why say “not necessarily”? Because besides the fixed destiny in this world,

There is also something we cannot control,

Called variables.

I planted this tree,

And did everything according to the laws of its growth,

But suddenly one day a typhoon came,

And directly uprooted this tree,

All the previous efforts were suddenly in vain,

This typhoon is an accident,

Something we cannot decide,

Besides typhoons, there are earthquakes,

fires,

pests, and other natural disasters.

Alright then,

Since this risk is uncontrollable, should we stop action and not realize our ideals? Rest assured,

You will always stay in the same place,

And never realize your ideals.

The first tree was planted,

And died due to an accident,

So I plant another tree, right?

This time I will be more careful,

More cautious,

As long as I keep trying,

I don’t believe there are so many accidents,

I don’t believe I can’t achieve my ideals.

Of course,

The outcome is also unknown,

All we can do is do our best in the process,

As for the result,

Only heaven knows.

So our ancestors once shared a piece of wisdom,

Called “Do your best, leave the rest to heaven.”

I planted this tree,

And poured all my efforts into caring for it,

But whether it can grow into my ideal shape,

Depends on fate,

I only do what I can,

What I can control,

And for uncontrollable accidents,

I don’t cling to them,

Nor do I covet,

I go with the flow.

In life,

I don’t think it’s necessary to pursue a certain result,

Because results are fleeting,

Part of the process of development,

If I cling tightly to the result,

It’s like living every day in torment and pain,

Only at the brief moment when the result arrives,

Can we feel happiness.

If you see it this way,

Are we really alive,

Or is the result alive?

The arrival of the result is a natural process,

I prefer to enjoy this process,

Just like when I learn to write articles,

The feeling of immersion is very fascinating,

I like this thing,

It makes me happy,

And that’s enough,

The outcome no longer matters,

Having ideals is fine,

But after realizing the ideals? I still continue to learn,

Continue to write,

It’s actually no different from my current life,

Then why cling to that fleeting happiness and overlook the present happiness?

I now do daily routines every day,

Sleep early, wake early,

Practice Baduanjin,

Study,

Write,

Work,

Reflect,

Taste delicious food,

I live very freely every day,

Very unrestrained,

Every night I go to sleep with hope,

Every morning I wake up with anticipation for a new day,

I think how the future will be is no longer that important,

Even tomorrow,

Has nothing to do with me.

Because I have already lived well today,

Lived the way I want,

I don’t regret,

Nor cling,

I live very fully,

Even if I take off my shoes tonight and can’t wear them again tomorrow,

I don’t feel any regret,

Because I have sincerely experienced what it means to be alive,

That’s enough,

As for the future,

As for tomorrow,

I’m not greedy,

For today,

I am already content.

Living requires a direction,

It requires finding meaning for oneself,

But these things are all虚无 (illusory),

They can only tell us,

How should we spend this life? That’s their only purpose,

If we obsess over this虚无 (illusory) thing too much,

Won’t our precious time be wasted? Won’t our limited life be lost in vain?

The future is made up of countless today’s,

How I live today,

Will determine how the future is,

If I live today happily and fully,

The future will also be happy and complete,

I don’t covet the final result,

I only focus on experiencing the process,

Even the next second,

I won’t waste time thinking about it.
