Gate News reports that on March 7, Galaxy Research Director Alex Thorn stated that the White House has released the U.S. Cyber Strategy document, titled “President Trump’s Cyber Strategy for America.” The 7-page strategy outlines six main pillars, emphasizing cyber offense and deterrence. For the first time in U.S. cybersecurity strategy, the document explicitly mentions cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, calling for their “protection and security.” Previously, the national cybersecurity strategy released by Biden in 2023 did not reference these technologies. However, the strategy also states the goal to “eliminate criminal infrastructure and cut off financial exit channels,” along with new executive orders to combat transnational cybercrime. Analysts believe this language could provide policy justification for regulators to strengthen crackdowns on mixers, privacy coins, and unregulated deposit and withdrawal channels. Additionally, the strategy proposes expanding offensive cyber operation authorities, mobilizing the private sector to combat hostile networks, and promoting AI-driven automated cyber defense systems. The accompanying executive order will also establish a new operational unit within the National Coordination Center to coordinate law enforcement efforts against transnational cybercrime groups.
