Golden Finance reports that the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) of the Fed is responsible for setting interest rate policies. Among its 12 voting members, 4 are presidents of the 11 Federal Reserve Districts, serving a one-year term in rotation. In 2026, Cleveland Fed President Harker will join this voting group. “My basic judgment is that we can keep the Intrerest Rate at the current level for a period of time until we have clearer evidence that either inflation is falling back to target levels or the employment situation is deteriorating more substantially,” Hammack said.
