Based on hints from tweets, this move seems to be a prelude to the long-awaited release of the GPT-5 AI model. Recent signs, including messages from OpenAI officials, indicate that GPT-5 is likely to be released soon. Last Sunday, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared a screenshot with “ChatGPT 5” in the upper left corner; the company’s head of application research also expressed his anticipation for the public’s acceptance of GPT-5 on Monday. Last month, Altman stated that OpenAI plans to release GPT-5 soon. Tom Warren from The Verge reported in July that OpenAI plans to launch GPT-5 in early August; in February, he wrote that Microsoft has been preparing server capacity for the new model.
