JPMorgan has significantly revised its forecast for the size of the global stablecoin market by 2028, down from trillions of USD to just 500 billion USD. The latest report shows that the penetration of stablecoins into the payment sector remains minimal, limiting growth potential.

The bank emphasizes that although stablecoins continue to play an important role in on-chain transactions and DeFi, the pace of expansion beyond the crypto ecosystem is slower than expected. The lack of a clear legal framework and delays in the deployment of user-friendly payment solutions are the main hindering factors.
