Lesson 5

Gate Spot DCA Trading Demonstration (App Version)

This lesson explains how to create and stop Spot DCA on Gate App, distinguishes operational procedures for different modes, and provides practical tips (such as setting stop-loss lines, judging major market movements, selecting good liquidity trading pairs) to help users reduce risks in actual trading.

1. How to create

Tap [Trade] - [Trading Bots] - [Spot DCA] at the bottom of the Gate App. You can directly copy the bot recommended by Ultra AI and Recommended Bots.

Alternatively, you can customize your own bot: choose your trading pair and fill in the required parameters including Price Deviation, Max DCA Orders, TP Target Per Cycle, Investment Amount, and other settings. Tap [Create Bot] to finish setup.

Spot DCA Trading Tips:

  • Set stop-loss lines to avoid unlimited averaging: such as fixed percentage stop-loss, e.g., stop averaging when maximum loss reaches 30%; capital ratio stop-loss, e.g., no more averaging after total position reaches 50% of funds; trend stop-loss, e.g., if price breaks below historically important support levels, such as BTC breaking below 200-week moving average.
  • Assess crypto market major movements, avoid using this bot during unidirectional bear markets.
  • Pay attention to liquidity issues and choose trading pairs with good trading depth to prevent large order dumps causing price deviation.

2. How to terminate

Tap [Assets] — [Bots] — [ Active] to select the corresponding Spot DCA bot, and click [Terminate] to stop the bot.

Reminder: When terminating bots, choosing market closing will sell your holdings into USDT—typically used when the bot is profitable; choosing to retain held cryptocurrencies is equivalent to spot holding—mostly used when bot is at losses, where you can hold spot positions waiting for rise.
