PANews reported on March 13 that in the year following the Dencun upgrade, the average Gas fee of ETH dropped by 95%, marking one of the most significant network improvements of Ethereum. On March 13, 2024, the Dencun upgrade for Ethereum was introduced. This upgrade combined the Cancun upgrade for the execution layer and the Deneb upgrade for the consensus layer, introducing nine Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs). Its main goal is to enhance the scalability of Ethereum and reduce the Transaction Cost of layer 2 networks. According to YCharts, the average Gas fee of Ethereum has dropped from 72 gwei in 2024 to only 2.7 gwei on March 12, 2025.
