Shiba Inu Token (SHIB) as Meme Coin

The Shiba Inu token, often referred to as the "Dogecoin Killer," emerged on the crypto scene in 2020, inspired by its canine rival, Dogecoin, aka DOGE. Despite its meme origins, SHIB has proven to be more than just a "joke coin", often a byword with its impressive market cap and unique features.

One distinguishing factor is the issuance of SHIB as ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, in contrast to Dogecoin's standalone blockchain. The launch of the project included an interesting step, with half the token supply allocated to Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, but he later burned it out.
