I've noticed that there's a lot of talk about Elon Musk and his relationship with crypto, but few people really know what he holds in his portfolio. It's true that his tweets shake the markets, earning him the nickname "Dogefather." But concretely, what crypto assets does this tech billionaire actually own?
Let's start with Bitcoin. Musk officially adopted BTC in 2021 when Tesla announced a massive investment of $1.5 billion. Although Tesla has liquidated most of its holdings since then, Musk confirmed that he still keeps some. He sees Bitcoin as digital gold, a true store of value. Currently, BTC is around $67.49K, and it's easy to see why he believes in it.
Next is Ethereum. It's the second-largest crypto by market cap, and Musk confirmed his interest during a conference in 2021. ETH at $2.06K is an asset he considers fundamental to the entire ecosystem of smart contracts, DeFi, and NFTs. For him, Ethereum truly represents blockchain innovation.
But we all know his favorite: Dogecoin. Musk doesn't hide it; he loves DOGE. He calls it "the people's cryptocurrency" and has even considered using it for payments at Tesla and SpaceX. His support has completely changed the trajectory of this token. DOGE is currently at $0.09 with a slight increase of 0.13% in 24 hours. What he likes is precisely its meme nature and ultra-low transaction fees.
Then there's the gray area with speculation. Shiba Inu? He denied holding any, but his tweets about "Floki" and other dog-themed coins caused significant market movements. SHIB is around $0.00 with a 1.54% decrease. Floki Inu, named after his own Shiba dog, drew attention, but there's no real proof he owns it. FLOKI is currently very low at $0.00 with a minor decrease of 0.07%.
What’s interesting is how one man can influence an entire sector of crypto. His positions in Bitcoin and Ethereum show he understands the fundamentals, but his love for Dogecoin also reveals a more philosophical view of what crypto should be: accessible and community-driven. It’s a fascinating mix of technological seriousness and meme culture that only Musk could create.
