Just saw an ETF analysis from Bloomberg. On the first trading day of the US stock market this year (January 2nd), there was a single-day capital inflow of $7.1 billion, which is quite impressive. If this pace continues, the annual inflow could reach $1.8 trillion. Of course, this is likely an exaggeration, but it does reflect the market's enthusiasm.
Interestingly, in the US stock ETF inflow rankings, Vanguard's VOO remains the leader, and BlackRock's SGOV is also steady in the list. But the most eye-catching is BlackRock's newly launched Bitcoin spot ETF IBIT, which saw $287 million in inflows on a single day, ranking tenth. That performance is indeed remarkable.
Overall, the ETF capital flow pattern at the start of this year is quite similar to last year. Although it's still early and there may be some noise in the data, the beginning of the new year often reveals the market's main direction.
