ME News update: On March 31 (UTC+8), Optimism co-founder Karl Floersch stated at EthCC[9] that Ethereum is entering a critical stage of transitioning from technical standardization to “professionalization and customization.” Karl noted that the technological evolution of Layer 2 has advanced from the early phases of independent construction and EVM equivalence to a modular architecture that supports niche requirements. For enterprise-scale adoption, the current technical priorities are to deliver configurable compliance, deterministic latency SLAs (service-level agreements), and a custom fee-economic model. Karl emphasized that with open, “no lock-in” architectures such as OP Stack, enterprises can customize blockchain space according to specific business needs without breaking ecosystem compatibility. By leveraging Ethereum’s battle-tested security and interoperability, blockchain technology is accelerating the migration from Web2-style setups to Web3-native applications, aiming to upgrade the underlying infrastructure of global financial systems and enterprises.
