So, here’s the thing: many people are still confused about the reveal mechanism in NFTs. Essentially, reveal is the process where NFTs that initially look identical finally display their unique forms after a certain period of time has passed.
The concept is quite interesting when you think about it. When a new NFT collection is launched, all tokens initially display the same placeholder image. But then, after the predetermined period ends, each NFT suddenly "unlocks" and reveals its actual artwork.
This mechanism has become popular in the NFT community because it adds an element of surprise and excitement. Many projects use reveal as a strategy to build hype. Some even incorporate the reveal process into their storytelling, so each revealed NFT has a unique story behind it.
From what I’ve seen, reveal is one of the creative ways to make NFT launches more engaging. Instead of seeing all the artwork upfront, collectors have to wait and wonder what will be revealed. That’s why the reveal mechanism is still widely used today, especially in projects that want to create a memorable experience for their holders.
