According to Anthropic’s official statement, the tool is a feature integrated into Claude Code; it scans codebases, finds security vulnerabilities, and then provides targeted patch suggestions for human review. The view is that this is not a product that takes over the entire sector; rather, it is a developer focused tool that strengthens the application security (AppSec) and code scanning side. The tool stands out with its claim that, compared with traditional rule-based scanning systems, it can better understand code context and detect issues caused by data flow and business logic. The market, however, priced strong same day declines in stocks such as CRWD, $NET, $OKTA, and similar names and is still pricing them out of fear that AI could quickly make security software unnecessary, without seeing this technical distinction. Despite this, many experts and analysts argue that the first reaction was excessive, because the tool requires human approval and cannot replace enterprise security architecture on its own. On the other hand, in the long-term view, the possibility stands out that AI may increase total cybersecurity spending by both expanding the attack surface and strengthening defense tools.
In fact, this situation does not kill the sector; rather, it transforms it from the ground up and creates new and more complex areas. On the contrary, this may increase the Cyber Arms Race.
