The fifth day of the Lunar New Year is also called “Po Wu” (Breaking the Fifth).

In the past, there were many restrictions during the New Year period, such as not throwing dirt outside, not throwing trash outside, not breaking things, and children speaking avoiding taboos. However, once the fifth day arrives, these restrictions are lifted and “unsealed.” This is the origin of “Po Wu.”
