The Ethereum Foundation has published a roadmap for 2026.
The team announced three key areas of development:
1. Scale (Scaling).
➤ Increasing the gas limit to 100m+.
➤ More throughput for L2.
➤ Preparing for parallel transaction processing.
2. Improve UX (Enhancing User Experience).
➤ Implementing smart wallets at the network level so they can be used without additional services and intermediaries.

3. Harden the L1 (Network Security).
➤ Strengthening security.
➤ Working on censorship resistance.
➤ Preparing for quantum threats and future cryptographic changes.
