CCTV News: During the 2026 Spring Festival holiday, the national New Year goods market remains bustling. From fresh fruits and vegetables to specialty gifts, trucks traveling between urban and rural areas quickly deliver the festive atmosphere to thousands of households.
In a large fruit wholesale market in Nanning, Guangxi, a busy scene unfolds as freight drivers skillfully load and unload goods.
The busy road freight reflects the strong vitality of the Spring Festival consumption market. Data from a domestic freight service platform shows that in the first four days of the holiday, the demand for transporting various New Year goods and daily necessities significantly increased. Among them, small commodity orders rose by 50.9% year-on-year, the largest increase. Fresh produce orders followed with a 31.8% increase, clothing and fabric orders grew by 24.4%, and grain and oil food orders also increased by 7.4%.
To ensure smooth logistics during the Spring Festival and care for freight drivers on duty, transportation departments across the country have launched warm-hearted measures at highway service areas and logistics parks. In over 2,000 “Driver’s Homes” nationwide, drivers can enjoy free basic services such as parking and rest, meal heating, hot water supply, showers, and laundry. Some stations also offer discounted meals, convenient vehicle maintenance, and emergency rescue services.
