West African nation, The Gambia, is set to build Gambia One, a blockchain-powered digital public infrastructure (DPI), following a deal with Kalp Foundation.

The Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to creating digital public infrastructure using blockchain technology, will also deliver capacity-building initiatives for government leadership and skilling programs for Gambian youth in the blockchain and related technology ecosystem.

“The Gambia welcomes Kalp Foundation’s vision and expertise in fostering an inclusive digital ecosystem.

Together, we will harness the power of blockchain-enabled DPI to deliver innovative, citizen-centric solutions that align with global standards of trust, transparency, and accountability,” said Hon Lamin Jabbi, Hon’ble Minister of Communications & Digital Economy (MoCDE).

According to Hassan M. Jallow, Permanent Secretary in the same ministry, the deal represents a leap forward in Gambia’s digital transformation and will provide an example to the rest of the world.

“This partnership represents a significant leap forward in The Gambia’s digital transformation. By leveraging Kalp Blockchain’s groundbreaking technology, we are setting a benchmark for how nations can unlock their full potential through innovation and collaboration.”

Kalp noted that Gambia One is a revolutionary app that leverages Kalp Blockchain’s cutting-edge capabilities to enable secure data exchange, streamline government operations, digitize critical services among other offerings.

The initiative is motivated by a shared vision to empower underserved communities, bridge the digital divide, and create scalable solutions aligned with global regulatory and ethical standards.

“We are deeply honored to collaborate with The Gambia in its journey towards becoming a future-ready nation powered by a robust blockchain-driven digital ecosystem,” said Tapan Sangal, Founder and Director, Kalp Foundation.

“Our partnership with The Gambia marks the beginning of a series of transformative engagements designed to empower nations with sustainable and inclusive digital public infrastructure.”

The Kalp Foundation intends to build on this model worldwide, creating more partnerships to reshape the digital landscape with a focus on inclusivity, compliance, and innovation.

The foundation said that the partnership with The Gambia marks ‘a significant stride toward a future where technology unites communities, empowers individuals, and drives sustainable growth on a global scale.’
