Copper price increase offset by coal price decline; Glencore profits decline

Gelonghui February 18 | Glencore announced a decline in its full-year profits, due to record-high copper prices failing to offset the decrease in revenue from its large coal business. The company’s core earnings were $13.5 billion, down 6% from the previous year. However, Glencore stated it will return $2 billion to shareholders, including an additional $800 million in dividends.
