Techub News reports that, according to Bloomberg, the UK Treasury plans to pilot the issuance of digital government bonds DIGIT using HSBC's blockchain platform Orion. HSBC stated that issuing bonds via blockchain technology can significantly accelerate the settlement process, thereby optimizing the overall structure of the UK debt capital market. Previously, the Orion platform has supported the issuance of over $3.5 billion in digital native bonds worldwide, including the European Investment Bank's first digital pound bond and a $1.3 billion multi-currency green bond issued by the Hong Kong government.
