At Hong Kong's Crypto Consensus Conference, the biggest consensus surprisingly was AI. The topics during the speeches on stage were great, but few people were listening in the audience, as everyone was complaining about the industry and the market. A crypto gathering, yet everyone is thinking about how to escape crypto. On one side is the continuously declining market and endless bickering, on the other side are rising valuations, iterations, and the future. The fork in the road has already arrived. AI to the right because the world needs productivity; crypto to the left because the world isn't bad enough yet.
In fact, AI and crypto have never been on the same track. I've always believed that blockchain is not a technological product but a systemic one. The core of crypto has always been decentralization, trust, and the redistribution of power. I will always love Web3.
