The seller of the ai.com domain bought the domain at age 10 for only $100.

BlockBeats News, February 10 — According to Malay Mail, Malaysian tech entrepreneur Arsyan Ismail sold the top-level domain ai.com in April 2025, reportedly for up to 70 million USD (approximately 301 million MYR at the time exchange rate), earning over 300 million MYR from the sale.

Arsyan gained significant attention for this high-value transaction, but in fact, he had purchased the domain with his mother’s credit card back in 1993, when he was only 10 years old. At that time, he didn’t spend the money on toys or games but used just 100 USD (about 256 MYR at the time) to buy the ai.com domain.

His mother was quite confused by the charge at the time — she didn’t know what a domain was and only saw an “unknown” charge on her credit card statement.
