Mars Finance News, February 9 — According to CertiK’s analysis, the number of “wrench attacks” in 2025 has surged, with 72 confirmed cases, a 75% increase compared to the previous year. The economic losses exceed $40.9 million, a 44% rise. However, experts believe that due to unreported incidents and confidentiality settlements, this figure may be far below the actual impact. Europe has become the hardest-hit region, accounting for over 40% of global incidents, with France reporting the highest number of cases. The severity of violence is also escalating, with personal attack incidents soaring by 250%. Typical cases include high-profile kidnapping cases targeting cryptocurrency holders (such as entrepreneurs and their families) in France, Austria, and the United Arab Emirates.
