Venus Research Institute: Is the Chinese Internet Culture Meme Coin Boom Really Here?

Since the beginning of 2026, although the global financial markets remain volatile, the on-chain ecosystem has quietly revived. Recently, a series of Meme tokens rooted in the Chinese context have not only driven some established projects but also, through celebrity effects and unique internet “meme culture,” broken the traditional narrative dominated by overseas projects.
This article will review the recent popular Chinese Meme projects and share our observations.
“Everyday Life” Series
These projects originate from trending topics on social platforms. For example, a meme related to a memoir that appeared at the end of 2025 initially involved users humorously criticizing app experiences and “the myriad aspects of life.” As one of the early Chinese Meme projects to break a certain market cap, it has spurred a series of subsequent Chinese tag projects, and currently, related assets maintain high discussion volumes within the community.
Hajimi (Hajimi)
“Hajimi” is a typical cross-cultural symbol. It originates from the cute Chinese internet nickname for anthropomorphized cats, and its pronunciation coincidentally resembles the well-known AI model Gemini, making it a cross-media symbol combining “cute pet culture” and “tech hotspots.” Currently, this project enjoys high recognition in the Chinese community, with a market cap ranking among the top in similar projects.
“I’m Here” (WTM)
This project was inspired by a social media post from a well-known industry figure released on New Year’s Day 2026. With strong dissemination power and a Chinese-specific expression style, the token quickly attracted a lot of attention after launching on Venus, becoming a barometer of activity in the recent Chinese community.
Snowball (Snowball)
These projects emphasize mechanism design more. The Chinese version “Snowball” borrows from automated buyback logic, symbolizing that the project can grow rapidly like a rolling snowball. This model, driven by specific buy-sell taxes and token burn mechanisms, has caused significant traffic fluctuations within niche project circles.
Life Curve
This is a case with “AI + philosophy” attributes. It originates from an AI large model-based fortune-telling product that visualizes life ups and downs as data curves. Due to its exploration of the randomness of fate and mainstream media coverage at the beginning of the year mentioning AI prediction technology, it sparked broad community participation. Currently, after experiencing a boom, the project has returned to a rational market range.
Dialect Culture Category
By leveraging the familiarity of dialects and cultural symbols (such as ancient philosophers), some projects have recently gained considerable attention. With support from related ecological foundations, these projects show strong short-term explosive potential.
Conclusion
As we previously discussed in “The Flash Era of Digital Assets,” more and more new projects are relying on “social media hype + data-driven” approaches to accelerate their pace. In the current market environment, which is relatively dull and liquidity is scarce, these Chinese projects, with their inherent cultural identity, have allowed the Chinese community to find a sense of belonging in the crypto world.
