The total losses in 2025 exceeded $4.04 billion, an increase of approximately 34.2% compared to the $3.01 billion stolen in 2024. This includes: $2.67 billion lost due to cryptocurrency hacking (a year-over-year increase of about 24.2%), and scam losses reaching $1.37 billion (a year-over-year increase of about 64.2%). Of these, approximately $334.9 million in stolen cryptocurrencies have been recovered or frozen, compared to $488.5 million in 2024.
