A certain compliant platform recently issued a security alert: the development of quantum computing may threaten the security of Bitcoin's ECDSA signature mechanism. According to data, approximately 6.51 million Bitcoins (accounting for 32.7% of the total network supply) are at potential risk due to address reuse and outdated early scripts. These Bitcoins are mainly concentrated in old addresses and deprecated scripts, which could be vulnerable to quantum attacks if not addressed promptly. To meet this challenge, US and European regulators have jointly required industry participants to complete the migration to post-quantum cryptography standards by 2035. This means that from now on, the entire crypto ecosystem needs to accelerate key upgrades, address transfers, and other defensive measures to ensure the long-term security of assets.

Wow, 32.7% of Bitcoin is at risk? How many years will it take to upgrade everything? Feels like we'll have to go through it again by 2035.

Quantum computing is truly frightening, but 2035 is still a long way off. It seems like everyone is still taking it easy now. 32% of coins are at risk? Then how many people need to wake up?

It's the quantum issue again. Why didn't anyone speak up at first, and now they're panicking...

Damn, 32.7% of Bitcoin is at risk? How many billions is that? My mindset is collapsing. Still have to wait 13 more years until 2035 to migrate? What are the big players thinking? When I was bottom-fishing before, I never thought about this. Now I’m panicking. If quantum computing really comes, won’t us small retail investors be wiped out? Or are those old addresses just holding no coins at all? I need to transfer my coins quickly. On-chain data shows this situation is still a bit uncertain. It sounds pretty serious, but I feel like I need to wait and see if there are any new plans.

32.7% of Bitcoin is lying around waiting to be broken by quantum computing, this is really no joke... --- Migration before 2035? Easy to say, but when that time comes, there will be another big reshuffle --- Old addresses reused repeatedly, those big players will probably have a headache, better start moving --- The threat of quantum computing has been discussed for a while, why is everyone only panicking now? --- Old coins held by miners need to be carefully accounted for, upgrading is essential to avoid issues --- It's already 2024 and some are still using abandoned scripts? How lazy can you get... --- Instead of worrying about quantum, first secure your private keys, haha --- Post-quantum cryptography standards sound high-end, but the actual implementation is quite complex --- Six million Bitcoins hanging in the balance, this is a huge deal --- It feels like big players have already been quietly transferring, just waiting for retail investors to take the bait

Wow, 32.7% of Bitcoin is at risk? How many old coins are left unmanaged... Quantum computing still feels far off, so why has it become an urgent issue?
