On January 8th, security alert agency Cyvers Alerts detected a major fund movement. Suspicious transactions were found in the "Purchase" contract of Truebit Protocol, triggering a $26 million outflow wave.

Data tracking shows the situation is quite severe — the TRU token price plummeted instantly, with a drop approaching 99.95%, resulting in an estimated loss of about 8,535 ETH. This is not only a numerical blow; the underlying counterparty risk and operational vulnerabilities exposed are even more concerning.

Market reactions were swift. Since TRU tokens are easily confused with the TrueFi project, trading depth was already limited. It is expected that market makers will immediately widen spreads or stop quoting altogether until the full truth of the incident is revealed. Such events serve as a wake-up call for the entire ecosystem — a reminder to stay vigilant when operating on-chain.

Another on-chain drama, $26 million just disappeared... --- 99.95% decline? How outrageous is that, it feels like the entire project is rotten --- Really, it’s always like this—smart contract vulnerabilities, fund outflows, token zeroing out. When will this cycle ever stop? --- The confusion between TRU and TrueFi is really a trap. The trading depth was already shallow, and then this happened. --- 8,535 ETH lost. How disgusting must market makers feel now? Just stop quoting prices, right? --- That’s why I never touch small-cap coins. The risk is explosive. --- Smart contract risks are truly unpredictable. Being cautious is useless; if the code has vulnerabilities, it’s dead. --- On-chain operations require vigilance? Honestly, I’m tired of hearing that. It still depends on the project teams not to be so unreliable. --- The ecosystem is sounding the alarm again. When was the last time it did? Yet everyone still keeps playing.

Coming again? Are on-chain operations so vulnerable?

It's the same old trick again; with contract vulnerabilities appearing frequently, I really can't hold on anymore.

99.95% decline, how outrageous is that? Did the code have a bug again?
