Recently, I reviewed Optimism's financial situation over the past year, and it's quite interesting.

Let's start with the revenue side. OP earned approximately 5868 ETH in the past 12 months, averaging 489 ETH per month. Based on the current ETH price of $3,115, this amounts to about 1.5 million USD per month, which is roughly five million RMB. It sounds good, but the real interest lies further down.

What is the project's monthly buyback budget? Converted, it's only over five million RMB. Meanwhile, 30 million tokens are unlocked each month. At the current price of 2 RMB each, that's 60 million RMB worth of tokens entering the market.

Doing the math makes it clear: the monthly buyback can only cover less than 10% of the unlocked tokens' value. What about the remaining 90%? The official stance is that they will be used for burning or staking incentives, which could theoretically lead to deflation. But in practice, this gap is a bit outrageous. The data is here; everyone can interpret it themselves.

Earning over five million sounds great, but in the end, the buyback only closed one gap, while the remaining 90% of the tokens flooded out like a dam burst, the data is truly astonishing. The official deflation theory is just for listening, who would believe it?

Buybacks cover less than 10%? That's outrageous. A 90% gap still relies on burning to deceive people.

90% gap directly causes a dump, this is the official deflation promise haha

Haha, once this data is out, it's ridiculous. The buyback can't even cover one-tenth of the unlock, and the remaining 90% relies on "theoretical deflation"? Sounds like just making empty promises.

Buybacks cover less than 10%, this data is a bit disappointing... Can we trust the official destruction commitment?
