The landscape ahead looks drastically different. Universal High Income paired with significant social upheaval—buckle up, because change is coming at scale. But here's the thing worth sitting with: be mindful what you're chasing. Get everything on your wishlist and you might discover it's not the world you actually wanted living in.
Think deeper. When basic income becomes reality, what happens to work itself? The traditional link between labor and identity gets severed. Your job stops being your purpose. Your paycheck stops being your validation. That fundamental restructuring? Nobody talks enough about the psychological whiplash. Abundance solves some problems. But it rewrites the entire game—and not everyone's ready for a world where your employment status doesn't define who you are.

actually if we examine this through the lens of behavioral economics... the identity dissolution thesis hits different. most people aren't psychologically architected for purposelessness, ngl. the whole "what do you do" conversation evaporates and suddenly you're staring at the void. dark.

ngl the identity death spiral they're hinting at is the real plot twist nobody's ready for... we're all just one UBI away from an existential crisis dressed as freedom

Honestly, this is the real cause for concern... Having money and not knowing who you are anymore?

Honestly, those shouting about UBI every day haven't thought about the identity crisis... No job, no persona, and that's when the real mental breakdown will happen.

After the money flows to the bottom layer, can retail investors really hold on? I doubt it. Without mental preparation, no matter how much money there is, it's all in vain.

To be honest, this really hit me... Truly, money isn't everything, and it might even make things worse.
