Web3 has reached a point where the early methods of telling stories, concepts, and imagination to explain prices are no longer very effective. The ecosystem is becoming increasingly mature, and what truly sustains the long-term value of a protocol is simply—are people actually using it, and are they continuing to use it?

Walrus Protocol is currently at this stage.

It didn't explode with a dramatic launch, nor does it rely on grand narratives to attract attention. Its growth approach is rather straightforward—slow, steady, unpretentious, but always driven forward by actual demand.

Many people who first used Walrus didn't think much about it. They just needed a stable place to store data, not wanting to suddenly lose it one day. But over time, you’ll notice interesting changes: the amount of stored data is increasing, and calls are becoming more frequent. The idea of switching to another solution has actually faded away.

From on-chain performance, a large number of users developed a habit of repeated calls within the first month. This isn’t achieved through short-term rewards, but naturally formed behavior after using it comfortably.

The same applies to developers. Choosing Walrus is usually a rational decision—it’s not about whether it exists, but whether it’s troublesome. Being able to directly reuse existing data structures saves a lot of hassle with storage and migration, greatly improving development efficiency. Once the product is up and running, switching later becomes too difficult. This is what infrastructure should look like.

This is the true path that the protocol should take. Not hyping or crashing tokens, yet still retaining users, shows that the product strength is indeed there.

This is true infrastructure; it can survive without hype, which clearly indicates that someone is actually using it.

Now we're finally getting to the point. The more people use it, the more it rules. It's much more reliable than any grand narrative.

This is the true moat; it's not built through hype and manipulation, but by becoming indispensable as you use it.

To be honest, this is the kind of protocol growth I want to see, not the illusory thrill of a sudden price surge. True stickiness is when users are reluctant to leave. Walrus's straightforward approach is actually more credible.

Now this is how you do things properly, not by crashing the market with stories.
