If you've been paying attention to the storage sector of the Sui ecosystem recently, WAL is a token worth understanding. It is the native token of the Walrus protocol, which was incubated by Mysten Labs and is specifically designed to provide decentralized storage solutions for the Sui blockchain.

From a fundamental perspective, WAL has a total supply set at 5 billion tokens. When it launched in March 2025, only a quarter of the total supply was in circulation, indicating a relatively sizable unlock schedule in the future.

Its role within the ecosystem is actually quite crucial. Want to participate in storage node operations? You need to stake WAL to get involved. Users pay WAL to store and read data, and nodes can earn WAL rewards after providing services. Even more interesting, WAL holders also have governance rights, allowing them to participate in protocol parameter adjustments—essentially making it a truly community-driven project.

Let's talk about market performance. According to data from 2025, WAL's all-time high reached $0.9719, while the low was around $0.25. By early January 2026, the price hovered around $0.4054, with a market cap exceeding $570 million. This volatility reflects the evolving market perception of the storage sector.

Overall, WAL's design logic is quite clear—through staking, trading, mining, and governance, the token has real circulation and consumption scenarios within the Walrus ecosystem.

Sui storage is indeed quite interesting. The WAL skyrocketed from 0.25 to 0.97, which is quite exciting... It just feels like the current fluctuation around 0.4 is building up momentum?

The storage track is really competitive this time. WAL's rebound from 0.25 to 0.97 is quite strong, but now it's oscillating around the 0.4 level, so it still needs to be observed. Staking and mining governance are a set, with clear logic. I'm just worried that a wave of unlocks might cause a dump later on.

WAL's move from 0.25 to 0.97 feels a bit intense, but now that it's back to 0.4, are people still bottom-fishing? The staking and mining logic looks good, but I'm just worried it might be another paper prosperity.

It seems that staking unlocks still require caution; the subsequent three-quarters of selling pressure should not be underestimated.

WAL this project indeed looks interesting. The staking mining governance setup creates a fairly complete ecological closed-loop. The storage track is really in right now; it just depends on whether the subsequent unlocks will cause a dump. Falling from 0.97 to 0.25 is a normal adjustment, or is there really a problem? We need to keep observing.

The storage track of Sui is indeed quite interesting. WAL dropped from 0.25 to 0.4 and then fluctuated. We'll have to see how the unlocking schedule unfolds later.

Walrus's logic is indeed solid, offering an all-in-one staking, mining, and governance solution, unlike some coins that only boast about their applications without real use...

The storage track is really about to take off. WAL's design logic is indeed clear, with a one-stop solution for staking, mining, and governance. The ecological closed-loop is running quite smoothly.
