According to Bitcoin Magazine, the US Marshals Service (USMS) allegedly sold approximately $6.35 million worth of Bitcoin through Coinbase Prime on November 3, 2025, under the instructions of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). The documents show that about 57.55 BTC were directly transferred to a Coinbase Prime address and the balance has been cleared, indicating that the assets may have been disposed of. The above actions may violate Executive Order EO 14233 signed by President Donald Trump, which explicitly states that Bitcoin obtained through criminal or civil forfeiture should not be sold but instead incorporated into the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR).
