What is the true core of Ethereum? Recently, there has been a voice reiterating an often overlooked priority order.

Rather than pursuing financial efficiency or application convenience, Ethereum's primary focus is actually resilience — in other words, being able to survive in any adverse environment. Pressure, infrastructure paralysis, geopolitical shocks — the system needs to withstand these impacts and not collapse entirely due to external risks.

What does this mean? Decentralization, permissionless, and censorship resistance are the iron gates that must be prioritized and protected. Only by safeguarding these fundamentals can there be the capacity to consider expanding block space, increasing throughput, and other such matters. Survive first, then think about how well to survive. If this order is reversed, the entire system is flawed.

To be honest, I quite agree with this point of view. But to be fair, how many projects truly prioritize this as their first goal? They're all competing over TPS, ecosystems...

That's right, this is true enlightenment. Otherwise, wasting time on TPS and gas fees every day is pointless if something really happens.

That's right, you have to stay alive first before talking about development. Many people worry about TPS, gas fees every day, but they completely forget the root cause. Honestly, how many projects really prioritize resistance to censorship now... everyone is competing in the application ecosystem. Resilience sounds simple, but actually achieving it is very difficult. This guy said, "If the order is reversed, the entire system has a problem," which hits the core issue. Decentralization sounds easy, but when faced with pressure, do they start to compromise? Then what do you call a true iron gate...

You're right, life and death are the top priorities. Those who keep bragging about TPS and gas fees all day will reveal their true colors when faced with censorship pressure. If the fundamentals aren't even maintained, they still want to expand capacity—that's hilarious.

That's right, living first and then talking about dreams is the simplest truth of all. Right now, a bunch of people are only thinking about TPS and low gas fees, but they haven't even maintained the fundamentals and are still talking about application experience? That's backwards. When it comes to resisting censorship, you really have to stand your ground. Once you compromise, it's over.

To be honest, I respect this viewpoint. A bunch of people are obsessed with gas fees, TPS, and such every day, but they forget why decentralization is important—it's hilarious. Staying alive is the most important thing; don't mess it up.

First survive, then make money. This logic applies to anything.

Exactly right, this hits the nail on the head. Without solidifying decentralization and censorship resistance, even the fastest TPS is useless; in the end, it still becomes another centralized database.

That's right, resilience is the core. But to be honest, many projects have long been upside down, only focusing on TPS and a booming ecosystem, without considering how long they can truly last.
