Halliburton Elevates Shannon Slocum to Chief Operating Officer Role

Halliburton (HAL) has unveiled a significant executive restructuring, with Shannon Slocum stepping into the role of executive vice president and chief operating officer, alongside a seat on the board of directors. The appointment takes effect on January 1, 2026.

In his new position, Slocum will oversee the company's worldwide operations and spearhead initiatives across business development, health, safety and environmental affairs, and global technology initiatives. This promotion underscores confidence in his ability to lead critical operational functions across multiple domains.

Slocum brings extensive experience to the role, having joined Halliburton in 2002 as an associate technical professional. Throughout his tenure, he has progressed through various management positions in operations and technological advancement, with notable experience in North America, the Middle East, and North Africa. His career trajectory demonstrates deep expertise in both regional operations and technical strategy.

To fill the leadership gap created by Slocum's promotion, Halliburton has announced that Rami Yassine will assume the position of president for the Eastern Hemisphere, effective the same date. Yassine currently serves as senior vice president overseeing the Middle East North Africa region, making him well-positioned for the expanded international scope of his new role.

These executive moves reflect Halliburton's commitment to developing talent from within while ensuring operational continuity across its global footprint.
