Last night I prayed for my family in Venezuela, like I do every night but last night was different. For the first time, it felt like part of that prayer was answered.

Today, I feel one step closer to being able to see my grandma in Venezuela without the fear of being trapped there by a tyrannical regime that has ruled for over 20 years.
Imagine going home to visit your family, and when it’s time to leave, your civil rights are denied. You are held against your will simply because the government can do that.
That is the reality my people have lived through for decades but Nicolas Maduro being captured changed something. It gave us the feeling that maybe just maybe those who’ve taken everything from us can finally be held accountable.
