The real breakthrough isn't just new blockchains—it's making them disappear from the user experience.
Generalized Abstraction is the key. It strips away the friction that keeps mainstream users out: no more agonizing over fluctuating gas fees, no more juggling multiple chains, no more decoding cryptic hex addresses.
Users simply open the app and go. The complexity hides in the background where it belongs—like electricity powering your phone without you thinking about the grid. You don't see the infrastructure; you just experience the magic.
That's when blockchain goes mainstream. Not through marketing hype, but through technology that gets out of the way.

That's right, invisible infrastructure is the real key.

Well said, the invisible ones are the strongest.

NGL, this is the right approach. Hide those gas fees, contract addresses, and other trivial matters so that ordinary people don't even realize blockchain exists. Only then can it truly go mainstream.

honestly this is the narrative we've been preaching since 2016 but glad mainstream is finally catching up. abstraction layers aren't sexy but they're how networks actually scale beyond the larping crowd

That's right, invisibility is the highest form of design.

It sounds like they're just hiding the complexity. Anyway, us old-timers are already used to it—getting cut first and then talking about mainstream. I heard this kind of abstraction talk on L2 last time, but I still had to manage gas myself, do cross-chain, and remember a string of hexadecimal... Now they're doing it again? By the time user experience becomes seamless, I'm afraid my debit card will have been frozen long ago haha.
