Aave DAO Launches "Sovereignty Defense War": The community demands the recovery of Labs' intellectual property and equity

【ChainNews】An intense power struggle has erupted within the Aave community over protocol control. User tulipking initiated a highly provocative proposal on the governance forum, directly addressing the division of authority between Aave Labs and the DAO.

The core assertion of this proposal is quite bold: to use a “poison pill” lawsuit to have the DAO seize the intellectual property controlled by Aave Labs—including all published code and trademarks—as well as company equity. The clear goal is to place control over the lending protocol entirely in the hands of all AAVE token holders.

“This is a defensive self-protection,” tulipking stated sharply in the proposal, “the DAO must prevent being hijacked by centralized forces and ensure that all value flows to the true community.” He accused Aave Labs of secretly operating Aave’s brand, frontend interface, and user base as commercial assets, effectively privatizing what should belong to the community.

In addition to seizing intellectual property, tulipking also demands that the DAO recover all historical revenues earned by Aave Labs from Aave-related products and take full control of the company’s equity—essentially turning Aave Labs into a wholly owned subsidiary of the DAO.

Behind this wave of controversy lies a long-standing conflict over protocol revenue distribution and ultimate decision-making power. Aave community members’ resource allocation battles continue to escalate.

Poison Pill Plan? Ha, now Aave is really about to fight. To be honest, Labs holding the IP and equity is ultimately frustrating, and the community will inevitably clash sooner or later. If this can really turn things around, other DAOs will have to learn from it. But litigation costs are not cheap... is it worth it? It's the old story of centralized vs decentralized, so boring. tulipking, is this serious or just talk... It feels like Aave is about to turn into a power game. Where is the true value? Everyone is busy fighting for territory. Once this proposal passes, other projects will be panicking. Reclaiming IP and equity sounds easy but is hard to do... The DAO's self-defense and Labs' survival are finally about to face off.

Haha, the poison pill plan? That's really ruthless, going straight for the real deal. Labs wants to monopolize? Dream on, the community is the boss. Aave's internal conflict is getting pretty intense, they're almost about to tear each other apart. True decentralization has to be done like this; just talking about it won't cut it. But lawsuits will probably drag on for another few years... If the community can really regain control, other DAOs should learn from this move. Feels like watching Game of Thrones—who's more ruthless gets to call the shots.
