The development of stablecoins and physical asset tokenization has reached a key milestone today.
According to Bloomberg, Interactive Brokers now supports retail investors in depositing funds into personal investment accounts using USDC stablecoins. More notably, this service is initially available to eligible US users.
From the perspective of financial infrastructure, what does this mean? Once the US market opens its doors, support for international users usually won't be far behind. The market generally expects that international adoption will gradually follow.
Imagine a future where you can directly top up your brokerage account with stablecoins, eliminating the cumbersome process of fiat currency conversion—this convenience is indeed a qualitative leap for investors. The integration of traditional finance and crypto assets is becoming deeper, and this move by Interactive Brokers pushes that progress further.

Interactive Brokers has made a good move; using stablecoins for deposits directly is indeed more convenient... I just don't know when it will be our turn as international users.

Interactive Brokers' move is quite good; once international markets open up, we should be able to use it too.

Interactive Brokers is really playing a big game. With direct deposits in USDC, the threshold has really been lowered.

Interactive Brokers finally supports USDC deposits, so the old fiat conversion process can be discarded. Nice.
