【Blockchain Rhythm】Backpack founder Armani Ferrante recently shared an interesting perspective at an industry conference: Solana is currently the only network that truly achieves large-scale decentralized execution.
This statement sounds quite absolute, but he provided reasons. Looking back over the past few years, developers have experimented with all kinds of solutions for scalability. Reviewing the funding records from 2017 and 2018 makes it clear—at that time, over a hundred projects each raised hundreds of millions of dollars, and some even secured billions. In terms of funding and manpower, the players back then were well-equipped.
But what is the reality? The vast majority of these projects failed to run effectively in truly large-scale scenarios. Solana, however, managed to make it happen. This is not just about impressive technical metrics, but about proving itself in high concurrency and high throughput real-world applications. That’s roughly why Solana stands out a bit on the path of scalability.

Exactly, over the past few years, Solana has truly withstood the test. What about those projects that raised a bunch of US dollars in 2017? Most of them have become worthless tokens, really. Only Solana dares to handle high concurrency in real-world scenarios, and it's not just talk.

To put it plainly, those L2s are still arguing, while SOL has already taken off.

To be honest, sol has already won by surviving until now. Where are those projects that raised billions of dollars?
---
Armani, this isn’t bragging. Just look at the testnet ecosystem and you’ll understand. The only one that can really run is sol.
---
After all these years of talking about scalability, it still comes down to practical application. The data is right here.
---
What happened to those projects that raised sky-high funding? It’s better to pull them out and compare.
---
Not all networks can withstand high pressure without crashing. sol still has some skills in this regard.
---
Just blowing hot air, let’s wait and see if they’re still that confident this year.
---
Large-scale execution? I just want to see which project has actually achieved it.
---
I give my respect. At least they’ve actually been tested in practice, unlike those just talk.

You're right, those funding giants are still just making empty promises.
---
Solana has indeed accomplished what others couldn't even imagine—impressive.
---
Huh? Only Solana? What about ETH layer2? That statement is too absolute.
---
Billions of dollars wasted, it's hard to believe... Solana's moves are indeed top-notch.
---
Alright, I believe it. The actual operational capability is right here.
---
But next time, don't go offline, buddy. That's a fatal flaw.
---
Creating something and just talking about it are two different things. Solana definitely has the confidence to speak.
---
I don't quite believe he's calling it the "only," but Solana's recent performance is indeed stable.

Here comes the hype about Solana again. Alright, it's true that the projects from 2017 mostly died out or burned out, but they are still alive and running now. That has to be acknowledged.
Why has Solana become the only choice for large-scale decentralized execution?
