[Bitpush] Attention Ethereum node operators! The Prysm client team has recently identified a performance-impacting bug, but the good news is that the fix is very simple.
The issue lies in the generation logic of old states—when processing expired attestations, the system unnecessarily generates historical states, which drags down node efficiency. The team’s temporary solution is super straightforward: just add a parameter to your beacon node startup command.
Here’s what to do: add the --disable-last-epoch-targets flag. If you’re using version v7.0.0, you don’t even need to upgrade—just add this parameter to your existing configuration and restart your node. No changes are needed on the validator client side.
This is a pretty practical optimization patch, so if you’re running Prysm, add it as soon as possible. In theory, it can significantly improve your node’s response speed.

Yet another issue that could have been solved by changing a parameter. Why didn't you do it earlier?

Another parameter savior? I've been wanting to complain about Prysm's performance for a long time, and now there's finally a solution.

I’ve noticed my node has been a bit slow lately—turns out it’s this bug. I’ll hurry up and try this parameter.
Just add a flag and you can speed things up. The Prysm team really came through this time.
I keep seeing node sync getting stuck; didn’t expect it to be fixed this easily.
I need to use this parameter right away, otherwise I’m just wasting computing power.
I heard you just need to change one startup command? I’ll change it tonight then, no need to upgrade the version.

Haha, Prysm is acting up again? Just add a parameter to fix it—this is way too simple and crude.

All set with a single parameter? This is way more convenient than upgrading, haha. Just add the flag and you're good to go.

It's another issue solved by a flag. Prysm really does this from time to time.
Prysm node lagging? Fix performance issues with one parameter
