Don't remind me again today

Imagine a tax overhaul that's actually bold, wins public support, sets up the right incentives, and could strengthen government finances for generations. Sounds almost too good to be true, right?

That's because it basically is—at least when it comes to recent British policy. The UK government hasn't exactly been rolling out transformative fiscal reforms like this. Instead, we've seen more of the same: incremental tweaks, short-term patches, and policies that rarely tackle the root issues.

What makes a tax reform truly effective? It needs to be radical enough to shift behavior, popular enough to survive political cycles, and smart enough to align incentives with long-term economic health. The kind of reform that doesn't just shuffle money around but actually builds a more sustainable fiscal foundation.

Unfortunately, those kinds of big swings have been rare across the pond. It's a reminder that visionary policy—whether in traditional finance or emerging sectors—requires both courage and political will. And right now, that combination seems to be in short supply.

The tax reform in the UK... is just minor tweaks, the policies that really dare to take action have long gone. --- You're right, but the reality is that politicians lack the courage, afraid that any change will cost them votes. --- This article talks about regulation in web3, everyone wants good things, but no one dares to take real action. --- Wait, has there been any major moves in the UK in recent years? I haven't noticed any. --- The political cycle is the grim reaper of tax reform; no matter how good the plan, it won't survive until the next election. --- It feels like it's saying: good policies can't last, while bad ones can survive. --- Damn, it's like our investment policies for comparison, just patching things up. --- Seeing "courage and political will" indicates there's no hope; that stuff is rarer in politics than ETH rise. --- You've hit the nail on the head... no country can afford to fundamentally reform.

Nah, British politicians are still playing small tricks; real bold reforms only exist in imagination.

It has been said long ago that true reform must be genuine; minor adjustments are simply futile. The fact that the UK is still standing still indicates what? The politicians simply lack the courage. We in the crypto world understand this principle; it requires someone to dare to break through vested interests in order to reconstruct the ecosystem. Could this be an opportunity?

It's really true... British politicians only know how to patch things up and don't dare to take big actions.
