According to BlockBeats news, on July 17, Flashblocks has gone live on the Base network, increasing the base speed of the network by 10 times. It is reported that Flashblocks has shortened the effective block time from 2 seconds to 200 milliseconds, making the Base network the fastest EVM chain currently. This upgrade may prepare the infrastructure for the launch of the Base App, which Coinbase previously announced as the “everything app” to replace Coinbase Wallet. The new application integrates wallet, trading, and payment functions, while also incorporating social media, instant messaging, and mini-program support, all running on its self-developed Ethereum Layer 2 network, Base.
