Tether CEO: The Tether-backed brain-computer interface company Blackrock Neurotech is much more advanced than Neuralink.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said that Blackrock Neurotech, the brain-computer interface company backed by Tether, is much more advanced than Musk's Neuralink. In April 2024, Tether made a strategic investment of $200 million in Blackrock Neurotech and became a major shareholder of the company. Blackrock Neurotech was founded in 2008 at the University of Utah by scientists and brain-computer interface pioneers Dr. Florian Solzbacher and Marcus Gerhardt. At the time, Tether stated that using Blackrock Neurotech's technology, patients could operate robotic arms, manipulate wheelchairs, send messages, surf the internet, and even drive, all with the power of thought alone.
