The cryptocurrency law implemented by Russia at the end of 2024 has failed to effectively prompt mining enterprises to sign up, with only 30% of mining companies registered and 70% still operating in an "underground" state.

[Block Rhythm] On June 19, it was reported that since the end of 2024, Russia’s cryptocurrency laws have failed to persuade most mining enterprises to sign up with the government, with only 30% of mining companies registered in the Federal Tax Service.

The Russian government will implement two bills related to crypto assets mining in October and November 2024, introducing legal definitions and registration requirements for mining companies.

Nevertheless, Ivan Chebeskov, an official from the Russian Ministry of Finance, stated in an interview that 70% of mining enterprises are still operating in an “underground” state and have not yet completed the sign up.
