On March 6, 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to create a "Strategic Bitcoin Reserve" within the U.S. Treasury Department. This reserve will be financed by Bitcoins confiscated by the government and will not be sold and will be stored as a long-term store of value.
At the same time, a separate "Digital Asset Stock" will be created for digital assets other than Bitcoin. This step reflects the U.S.'s goal of leading in digital asset management.
These developments may contribute to the increased adoption of digital assets at the state level and the further maturation of cryptocurrency markets.
