#BTC Technical Support and Impersonation Scams – Stay Safe on Gate.io
Scammers often create fake customer support channels and impersonate companies—including Gate.io—or regulatory agencies. Their goal is to trick users into sharing personal information that can be used for fraud or theft.
To protect yourself: • Never grant remote access to your computer or device. Doing so could expose your financial accounts and private data. • Never share your passwords or 2FA (two-factor authentication) codes. • Do not trust unsolicited calls asking for personal or account details—even if the number looks official (scammers can spoof real numbers). • Only contact Gate.io through the official support page listed on the website. • Never send crypto to external wallets at someone else’s request—no Gate.io agent will ever ask you to do this.
Gate.io support staff will never: • Ask for your password or verification codes • Request you install remote access software • Take control of your device • Move or request crypto from your account
If you experience any suspicious interaction, disconnect immediately and report it to security@gate.io or through our official support page.
