#MOODENG & PI & GOAT Surge Following the announcement that the PI Core Team will make an ecosystem announcement on May 14th on the official X channel of the Pi Network, the Pi token started the week with strong growth.
In the statement by the Pi Core Team on May 8, it was trading around 0.6 dollars during the consolidation period that followed the token's downward trend.
However, since the aforementioned statement, PI has gained a strong upward momentum and traded at $1.49 with a rally of 62% in the last 24 hours. This increase, which has pushed the token's market value above $10 billion, has also enabled PI to achieve an increase of over 150% in the last month.
The Pi Network's token also became the best-performing token on a weekly basis and became the 14th largest cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization.
The PI community quickly embraced this announcement, and there has been much speculation regarding the statement. Some relate it to Pi Network's Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis's upcoming speech at the 2025 Consensus conference.
However, a popular X account with over 330,000 followers warned that this price increase could be a classic "buy the rumor, sell the news" event.
