China and the United States will initiate trade talks in Switzerland to seek breakthroughs in easing tariff conflicts.

According to Bloomberg, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer will meet with Chinese officials this week in Switzerland to initiate U.S.-China trade negotiations. This will be the first confirmed trade contact between the two sides since the Trump administration announced a new round of high tariffs on China. The talks are seen as a potential opportunity to ease tensions and drop the cost pressures on manufacturing and consumer goods.
