Researchers from BTQ, a startup dedicated to developing blockchain technology that can resist quantum computer attacks, recently published a journal article proposing an alternative to the (PoW) algorithm involving quantum technology, called Coarse-Grained Boson Sampling ((CGBS)). This method uses light particles (bosons) to generate unique patterns (samples) that reflect the current state of the blockchain, rather than relying on math problems based on hash. It is reported that this method replaces the traditional PoW encryption challenge with quantum sampling tasks, significantly reducing energy consumption while ensuring the security and decentralization of the network.

CERN announced the Third Collisions event, with DoraHacks as the main supporting organization

According to official news, the European Organization for Nuclear Physical Research (CERN) announced the "Third Collisions" event, which will be held from February 9 to 11. Approximately 700 current and past CERN researchers gathered to discuss CERN's 70 years of work and beyond, including advances in quantum computing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, aviation, and energy technologies. DoraHacks, a global geek sports platform, is the main supporter of the event, and DoraHacks initiator Eric Zhang will introduce the current state of the global geek movement and the global Open Source developer community, as well as the construction of infrastructure related to DoraHacks and Dora Factory. It is reported that CERN is a particle physics research organization and the birthplace of the World Wide Web (Web). While working at CERN from 1989 to 1991, Tim Berners Lee invented HTTP, the basic protocol for the World Wide Web, as well as URL and HTML, in order to solve the problems of LAN connectivity and document sharing and collaboration among departments. Other relevant research areas at CERN include quantum physics, antimatter, the Higgs boson, dark matter, large-scale data storage technologies, distributed computing, and maintaining the principle of network neutrality.
