BlockBeats News, March 25 — According to U.S. media reports, the Pentagon has reached agreements with major defense contractors on a series of framework agreements aimed at accelerating the production of key missile systems. These systems were heavily used during the early stages of the U.S. and Israel’s war with Iran.
According to the Pentagon announcement, Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems have agreed with the Department of Defense on a plan to “increase the production of THAAD interceptors fourfold.” Previously, the Department of Defense had reached a framework agreement with Lockheed Martin to quadruple the production of THAAD interceptors.
In another independent framework agreement, Honeywell Aerospace will invest $500 million over the next few years to “significantly increase the production of critical components in U.S. ammunition stockpiles,” including navigation systems and other products.
Additionally, Lockheed Martin and the Pentagon will also increase the production of the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), which is an alternative to the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS).
